What’s the best thing to do to learn something? Oh yeah. Teach it.

It has been almost a month since a started teaching piano to a 10-yr old girl. I haven’t had a real piano lesson but I can play chords pretty well. I taught myself to play chords, but reading notes is not my forte. I can study by myself before but I dont have the discipline to practice everyday. So since I’m teaching it now, I dont have a choice but to study every lesson so I can teach it well.

It started when Speegs, my little brother, told me about this movie called Twilight. Yeah, I heard a lot about it, the movie first and then the book. When I first heard the story, it really didn’t catch my attention. But what caught my attention was the crazy impact of it to people.

I know my bro well that he wont waste his time reading some fancy books (maybe he does sometimes ) but  when  he said “Twilight isn’t really that bad” it occurred to me that my geek bro would tell Twilight is ok besides his Physics and Chemistry books gave me the idea to try it. He gave me a link so I can watch the movie online. After I watched the movie, I had a great feeling that it would be much much better if I read the story from the book, so I read it online.

When my big bro knew I was reading it on screen and my eyes were always tired red and caught a lot of radiation, he bought me the full series.

1. Unorganized enrollment system. They had the whole summer vacation to plan what to do, I dont know why it didnt work. They should start thinking for plan B.

2.  Unpatient students and parents. Come on guys, you should learn how to wait, you’re all grown ups!

3. The rain. It just doesnt help at all.

Just up the road from my home is a field, with two horses in it

From a distance, each horse looks like any other horse. But if you stop your car, or are walking by, you will notice something quite amazing….

Looking into the eyes of one horse will disclose that he is blind. His owner has chosen not to have him put down, but has made a good home for him.

If you stand nearby and listen, you will hear the sound of a bell. Looking around for the source of the sound, you will see that it comes from the smaller horse in the field.

Attached to the horse’s halter is a small bell. It lets the blind friend know where the other horse is, so he can follow.

As you stand and watch these two friends, you’ll see that the horse with the bell is always checking on the blind horse, and that the blind horse will listen for the bell and then slowly walk to where the other horse is, trusting that he will not be led astray.

When the horse with the bell returns to the shelter of the barn each evening, it stops occasionally and looks back, making sure that the blind friend isn’t too far behind to hear the bell.

Like the owners of these two horses, God does not throw us away just because we are not perfect or because we have problems or challenges.

He watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us when we are in need. Sometimes we are the blind horse being guided by the little ringing bell of those who God places in our lives. Other times we are the guide horse, helping others to find their way….

Good friends are like that … you may not always see them, but you know they are always there.

One of the good things this summer is you wont need your sunblock when going outside, instead you need your umbrella. Right. It’s raining this summer. Almost everyday -  morning til noon til afternoon, the rain never stops. And guess what, low pressure areas keep on forming which means we’ll have a very wet, or I might say flooded summer.

But even so, summer still means camping time. Yes, we didnt move the camp.The Southern Tagalog Baptist Churches Association (SOTABCA) Youth Camp  was scheduled April 28-May 2,2009. It was a risk but we know our Father in heaven is faithful and can make the rain cooperate with us.  We did lots of prayers, specially the week before the camp when the non stop raining begun.

The first day came and no rain showed up, praise God! It was really an answered prayer. All the campers settled well and the first night was good. Second day was a little bit alarming, but still good. Little rain showers came in the afternoon which gave additional spice to our game activities. When the evening came, rain wasnt being friendly to us. It poured down continously until the next morning. As expected, most of the campers’ tents were flooded as well as their clothes so the camp management decided to cut the camp until lunch. We still did one workshop that morning and I was blessed to see the campers asking for more, but unfortunately we cant continue anymore.

Anyway, the camp in general was a success. The rain is still a blessing and it didnt hinder us to enjoy the fellowship of each other, make new friends and glorify God in our camp. Having a wet camp didnt seem so bad at all, except for the mud:D.

Every summer or every easter holiday the “Soriano clan” (my moms side) go to Zambales for a vacation. It’s a tradition to the family, they dont break the trend. My bros are the consistent ones that attend the vacation since I cant bear the long hours of travel. The last time I went with them was last last last year (2006).

To make the situation equal, my mom always plan for a holiday treat. We usually go to resort and spend an overnyt there. But this year its kind of different. We didnt go to a resort, we went in a hotel.

Very early morning we got our packed bags and waited for a bus. We were going to Quezon city. A city known for its heavy traffic, noisy vehicles and over populated with pedestrians seemed to be asleep. We got there very fast. No hassle. It was very quiet and deserted.

We checked in early at The Malayan Plaza Hotel so we can tour the place well.  Since the malls and most of the establishments were closed, we have no choice but to spend our whole day inside the hotel. The only place we can roam around, besides our room, was the 33rd floor and the 7 eleven store. The pool, table tennis court and the wifi area are all in 33rd floor.

It was really a nice vacation! Even we are not rich, even only for 24 hours, God is so good that He allowed us to have this experience, to be in a very modern and comfortable place.

*Next year will be………. hmmmm…… Hongkong?hahahaha

When opening my email, I have this habit of checking my spam/junk folder first before I open my inbox. And tonight, I was suprised to see a spam from wordpress for pending comments. What? Comments? Yeah. There are still people who read my unupdated blog. People that are so nice, leaving kind words and showing interest on what I do.

Honestly, I dont know what to do now. I kept on encouraging myself to write again on this blog but since I got so busy with my studies I didnt got the chance to even have a glimpse of this blog. My last post was about 5 months ago but people kept on giving me comments/messages. I was thinking to delete my blog so I wont be thinking of me not updating it. And thank God I didnt do that.

A new year has entered, my birthday just passed and most of the experiences and moments that I would want to share were too many. Where will I start? Shall I start AGAIN? I’m going to slap my face again with the fact that this will be a “ningas kugon” on my part. I can write now because summer vacation just started. By the start of June, I’ll be going in a deep sleep as far as writing goes.

I know I’m not consistent with this kind of things. But what I hope for is I wont stay in this big “sleep” this summer. If this times I have the time to write, I should be making an advantage to it. Trying again wont hurt. Having the fact that 2-3 people accidentally read my blog for the past weeks should motivate me to write for the 2-3 people who will about to visit my blog accidentally. If this is a wake up call for me, it did wake me up. Bedtime is over for now:).

An irritating sound cracked because of the sudden stop of the jeepney. And old man with his grandson clinging so tightly to him came in.  The old man was dressed with a rugged shirt, fading jeans, dusty cap and a very huge sun glasses that almost occupied half of his face. His grandson was wearing a sleeveless sweatshirt, an old shorts and a big smile beaming on his charming face. The old man’s hands and neck are slightly covered with wounds making him look sick.  With a satisfied grin, he reached down to his side pocket to get some coins and shakingly gave their fare to the driver.

The old guy and his grandson got my attention quickly. I discovered that the reason behind the sun glasses of the man was he doesnt have his left eye. I saw the deep hole below his eyebrow and his eye sucket is really empty. I felt something inside me when I saw that. I felt amazed and it puzzles me so much that why on earth these two is so happy and satisfied. Why cant they hide there smiles?? Why of all people, these two had the courage to show how blessed they are despite of their condition.

This experience remind me of something. Being happy is a CHOICE. Being satisfied is a CHOICE. It’s a DESICION most people fail to make. But I must say, I am blessed to witness that there is still two individual who made a right decision.

Just a thought: If a smile can move moutains, the old guy and his grandson had surely moved Mt. Everest and Mt. Figi together.

Don’t care about my grammar too.

Just eagerly waiting for me to come back and give you attention.

It’s been 5 months, I know.
